Review of Samson (2018 Movie)
The movie Samson is directed by Bruce Macdonald and is inspired by the biblical story of Samson from the Book of Judges. The film stars Taylor James as Samson, along with Jackson Rathbone, Billy Zane, Caitlin Leahy, Rutger Hauer, and Lindsay Wagner.
Of course, the film is not a grand epic like those classic biblical movies made by Cecil B. DeMille, and it does not feature Oscar-level performances. However, it is still engaging and entertaining enough to keep viewers interested.
To be honest, I initially decided to watch the film mainly because the actor from the British Vanquis credit card adverts appears in it. Even though the movie is clearly made on a limited budget, if you can look past that, you might still enjoy it. It is worth giving a try.
I first watched the movie on my computer, but later decided to watch it again on our 50-inch TV for a better experience. After watching it on the big screen, my opinion remained the same — it is not a brilliant film, but it is definitely a good and entertaining one.
I often judge how interesting a movie is by whether I leave to go to the bathroom while watching it. If I am able to hold off until the end of the film, it means the movie has really kept me hooked. During this film, I was desperately holding off because I did not want to miss anything. Because of that, I have increased my rating from 6 to 7 out of 10.
